Recent ActivityInstructor: Jason Miller
The East McDowell Trojan Band is under the direction of Jason Miller. Mr. Miller received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Mars Hill College in 2006. He is currently finishing his Masters of School Administration degree from Appalachian State University. Mr. Miller grew up in Clyde, NC. He is an active member of the Music Education National Conference and the North Carolina Music Educators Association. Mr. Miller plays the saxophone in the Asheville Community Band. The East McDowell Trojan Band program currently has over 130 members participating in 7th, 8th and 9th grade concert band, percussion ensemble, pep band and MPA band.

EMJH Band and Band Booster Announcements Winter Band ConcertThe Winter Band Concert will be on Friday, December 9 at 7:00PM. Students should report to the band room at 6:30. There is no admission charge.
 3 students make All-District BandIsaac Price, Josh Davis and Danner Gouge all made the WNC All-District Honor Band. These students auditioned against hundreds of other top band students from our region. They will attend a weekend clinic at WCU on Feb. 11-12, 2011. Congratulations!

Class Links  All-District Band Recordings WCU has recorded the solos for all-district auditions. Your cuts might not be reflected in the recordings, so you may have to find the exact spots you're working on. Snare Drum Rudiments 40 of The Percussive Arts Society's Essential Snare Drum Rudiments, along with videos of each rudiment being performed by Dr. John Wooton, audio play-along files, exercises that apply the rudiment to "real world" musical phrases and practice suggestions from the Vic Firth Education Team.
